Head of Department (International Cooperation Office)
Dr. Naw Si Blut is Head of the International Cooperation Office at the University of Yangon. She received B.A., M.A. and Ph.D in History at the University of Yangon. From 1999 to 2001, she studied as research student at the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, Japan where she did the research on Political Movement for the Emergence of Karen State (1930-1955) and completed Japanese Language Course. Again from 2005 to 2006, she was affiliated as research fellow to the Research Institute for the Languages and Cultures of Asia and Africa, the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, Japan and submitted the research paper on Japanese Policy Towards Myanmar during 1942-1945. From January to March 2019, she received the scholarship programme on Research Excellence Fellowship at the Central European University, Hungary and studied on Gender, Social Movement and Civil Society Organizations. She worked as Researcher at Universities Historical Research Centre (UHRC) and moved to the SEAMEO Regional Centre for History and Tradition (SEAMEO CHAT) in 2002. While working as Researcher at SEAMEO CHAT, she took part in a number of projects carried out in collaboration with the Centre for Southeast Asian Studies, Kyoto University, Japan. Before working at the International Cooperation Office at the University of Yangon, she also worked as Senior Programme Officer and Deputy Director at SEAMEO CHAT. Her expertise is in dealing with education and development project; planning and implementation of workshops, international conferences and education exhibitions.
